Nicholas Tse reveals details of his 8 second proposal

After the "exposed photos incident", Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung's relationship has remained stable, it looks like the "exposed photos" haven't affected them greatly. Let us now look back on how Nicholas Tse proposed back then.
Nicholas Tse appeared as a guest on "Super Talk", a well known Mainland China chat show, when he was chatting to the presenters Li Ching and Dai Jun, he revealed the whole process of his proposal to Cecilia Cheung for the first time ever he also said frankly that he felt very complicated when he was kneeled down on one knee waiting on her answer. And in order to fulfil Cecilia Cheung's dream of getting married at sunset, Nicholas Tse even cut short the priest's congratulations.
Even though there have been numerous news articles about how "Nicholas Tse" booked up a whole small island to propose to Cecilia Cheung, but Nicholas Tse described the details of the proposal for the first time personally: "Actually I only booked a part of a hotel." Soon after he began to "trick" the female lead to the island in his "proposal master plan", "We talked about where we wanted to go before. I haven't had a holiday for over 2 years, she (Cecilia Cheung) always hoped we could have a holiday. The other people at the time were hiding, as soon as she agreed, they jumped out."
What was a bit unexpected was that Cecilia Cheung didn't start crying there and then from being emotional moved by Nicholas Tse's proposal, she only started crying 2 days later.
As for that proposal sentence, Nicholas Tse wouldn't say it again, "I'm not going to talk about this, I hope I only say it once." Also regarding his mood at the time of the proposal, he revealed it to the public for the first time: "When I was down on one knee, I was looking at her, I saw an expression I had not seen in the 8 years I've known her. At the time I was very scared that I had made the pleasant surprise too big, will she say yes or think about it. At the time, I saw her expression, it didn't look like she was unhappy, but it didn't look like she was happy either, just as if her soul wasn't there, I waited for nearly 8 seconds." These 8 seconds to Nicholas Tse felt like a century, "Really. After 8 seconds, the other people only jumped out after they saw us hugging."
In order to fulfil Cecilia Cheung's wish of getting married at sunset, Nicholas Tse took great pains over it: "She said she wanted to get married at sunset on the beach, at the time the priest was saying his congratulations, it was very long, I was afraid of missing the sunset, because when the sun goes down it goes very fast, so the priest only got half way through and I said "I want my sunset", then my friends really said to the priest, "Stop, that's enough", and cut him off."
Nicholas Tse said honestly, that after stepping into the entertainment industry, because of the huge pressure of work, he's always had the habit of taking sleeping pills, he's had time for 8 to 9 years, he only stopped taking them 1 year ago: "These past 2 years I've started to feel relaxed about a lot of things, when I first joined the industry I felt my personality didn't integrate well with the entertainment circle, I often blamed myself, thinking I had said something wrong and worrying about how other people see me." Nicholas Tse expressed, the worst thing at the time was when he got booed when singing onstage, "I don't even know what I was singing at the time, I only know that the audience were throwing stuff and shouting." The time it happened most, was when 30,000 audience members booed him: "At the time the audience threw anything onto stage, light sticks are considered ok, there are also bottles, I've had everything thrown at me" After experiencing these "disasters", when Nicholas Tse went onstage again, he didn't hope for any applause, but instead he wondered to himself how big the boos will be today.
Because he has star parents, this made it difficult for Nicholas Tse when he first came out, because every move he made was in the media's videos. It only started getting better in 1999, giving to him was an impossible task: "Firstly, I knew I had a contract, I've already signed it, it's not possible to change it. Secondly, I've never shaken my belief in what I do."
Talking about his education in his family when he was young, his mother was always the baddie, not only did she hit him, she hit him hard: "She hit me with the Mahjong stick, often it breaks. One time after she finished hitting me, I counted and there were 200 marks. The school uniform in winter was long sleeved, she didn't let me wear it, I had to wear short sleeves, she wanted to let other friends know that I had been hit by my mother. One time she hit me, she took my underwear, after she finished hitting me she kicked me out." The result was that when the father Patrick Tse returned home, he couldn't find his son and had to go to each neighbours door looking, "My dad ran around building knocking on doors, asking if they had seen my son, each family said they hadn't. After searching for 2 hours, when he was taking a breather on the 22nd floor, he saw a naked, bruised child."
When the flowers blossomed officially for the "Feng Zhi relationship", the media exposed that Nicholas Tse's mother was not happy about the marriage, Nicholas Tse explained on the show, "That was a misunderstanding in communication between me and my mother. That time, I was filming "Wing Chun" and another TV series, it was only half a day after I returned to Hong Kong and went to the place of the wedding. That week I had to prepare the wedding rings, the tickets and loads of other stuff. But now there's isn't any more misunderstanding."
