Nicholas Tse interviewed by SinaNicholas Tse in front of the Hong Kong Film Award poster

The 29th Hong Kong Film Awards were held at Hong Kong Culture Centre, Nicholas Tse won Best Supporting Actor with his role as a rickshaw man in "Bodyguards and Assassins". Having last won a Hong Kong Film Award 11 years ago, the happiest thing for Nicholas Tse was getting an SMS from Cecilia. In two weeks time his second son will be born, being a father for a second time, Nic is still nervous, he says he will try to finish up all his work and return home to be with his wife, he also revealed that his big son Lucas has been especially protective of his mother's belly.

Sina: Today after winning the award did you call your wife? Will you give her the award?

Nic: I did! Just before she sent me a very cute SMS congratulating me on the award, tonight I'll go home a bit earlier and share it with her.

Sina: In two weeks time you and Cecilia will have your second child, how does it feel to be a father for a second time? What expectations do you have for your baby?

Nic: Even though it's the second time being a father, but I'm still nervous, I only hope for him to grow up nice and healthy.

Sina: Does Lucas know he'll have a little brother soon?

Nic: He ought to know, I don't know if he really does know, he won't ask me, but I've noticed he take special care over his mother's belly.

Sina: Are you planning on waiting with your wife for the birth of the new baby?

Nic: Before I was always working, when I came home Lucas had already grew so tall, the wife is pregnant again, I feel a bit guilty, I spend very little time with them. Tomorrow I'm going back to work, I'll fight to finish the work in a week and return home to have the baby with my wife.

Sina: You once won Best Newcomer Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 1999, how you do feel wining an award 11 years later?

Nic: Old, I've gotten really old, 11 years have passed so fast. Today I feel really happy, today I'm so happy, so many of the people from the movie are here, it's like a crew gathering.

Sina: Facing the stiff competition from Tong Leung and Zhang Zhen, did you feel confident of winning the award beforehand?

Nic: I'm not filming movies to win awards, if I didn't win it doesn't mean I didn't act seriously.

Sina: Today your look is very special, you've also won best dresser, you could say it's a double win.

Nic: Before I came I didn't know about this, because all along me and Denise Ho have been people who don't know how to dress. These clothes were picked out by my assistant, when working he picks out what I should wear, so I have to thank him."

Sina: Having won an award, who do you want to thank the most?

Nic: Actually the one I want to thank the most is the director, I'm grateful to him for giving me a chance. Because I myself have waited for such a script for so long, I don't want to film action scenes and dangerous stunts all my life, a film like "Bodyguards and Assassins" to me is something that comes your way and not something that you can forcefully get.
