"The Stool Pigeon" is a brand new story with the original cast of "The Beast Stalker" which won numerous awards, director Dante Lam expressed, the idea behind the story for "The Stool Pigeon" actually came before that of "The Beast Stalker": "When I was doing research for my last movie, I came into contact with a lot of stories about informers. There have been many stories about informers in Hong Kong movies before, but when I got the chance to learn about real life stories, I discovered that real life informers and those stories found on the silver screen are two completely different things. At that time I decided to film a movie The Stool Pigeon."
